Double lunging is a very good way to train and rehabilitate horses. My goal with the double lunging is to make the horses soft in the body with increased self-carriage capacity by teaching them how to work correctly through the body. Double lunging increases the horse's balance, self-carriage, coordination, communication between rider and horse, etc. It is also a very good tool to be able to use during rehabilitation to build up the body. I have trained hundreds of horses from young horses to Grand Prix over the past 15 years. For healthy horses, I recommend to double lounge at least 1-2 days per week.
